The State Government launched an advertising campaign on the weekend aimed at preventing alcohol and drug abuse among young Aboriginal people in the Perth metropolitan area.
The ‘Strong Spirit Strong Mind’ Metro Project is the first of its kind, incorporating the ideas of about 150 Aboriginals to make the campaign as effective as possible.
Sarah Motherwell spoke to the Manager of Community Programs at the Drug and Alcohol Office of WA, Grant Akesson, who worked with the young Indigenous people to create the campaign.
