With global
demand for food expected to double over the next forty years, farming remains a
vital industry.
This year is
Australian Year of the Farmer and it’s all about celebrating the role of
farmers and inspiring the next generation to live off the land.
Down in the South
West this mantra has been taken up, and it’s on display this weekend at the
inaugural South West FoodBowl Festival in Nannup.
Youth Reporter Sam Leung spoke to Festival Committee Member, and Margaret River tomato
and cauliflower grower, Jo Wren and asked her why people
should buy local.
