Discrimination is No Joke

By Sarah Motherwell

Has anyone ever said or done something at work to make you feel uncomfortable? Or do you know someone whose employer sent him or her a dirty photo or text message that made them feel offended and intimidated?

You're not alone - sexual harassment is widespread in Australian workplaces with a national survey showing just over one in five people have been sexually harassed at work since the age of 15.

And it's not getting better - the study conducted by the Australian Human Rights Commission found the issue hasn't improved over the past decade and worrying new trends are developing across the country.

Youth Reporter Sarah Motherwell spoke with Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick about sexual harassment in the workplace and why the issue isn't improving.
